I'm back...long time since last post

Winter is upon us again and I am struggling. The colder it gets , the more pain I seem to be in. My doctor prescribed me Percocet two years ago and it works. I don't want to think about the long term damages of being on a narcotic pain med, but I know that it directly and adversely affects your liver and kidneys. Most of what you find on the internet regarding this subject is about the abuse of Percocet. This is certainly not an issue for me, I do not even take close to the maximum daily dose allowed. Yet, I know that I could not live without it because after many different pain meds, we (my doctor and I) have found that it is the only thing that works.
I am no longer taking Lyrica as it began to make me very sick. I experienced flu-like symptoms, as well as some other symptoms so we had to stop that. I have not taken Lyrica for about a year now.

This past fall, I got married!! I have been with him for almost two years and my husband took the time to read about Fibro and learn all he could to help me during a flare as well as on a day to day basis. Mornings are the hardest and it hurts to get out of bed. My muscles are so stiff from laying down for so long and I can't move too well until I get something in my stomach so that I can take my pain meds. My husband cooks me breakfast every morning which helps a lot!

Fibromyalgia is life-long and the only thing we can do is obtain a good working relationship with our doctors, continue to educate ourselves about nutrition, and medication. Having a strong support network helps and always remember to hug your children and tell them that you love them, because they too see what you go through sometimes. If you are being the best you can be in that moment then you are doing it right.
